Racing against your friends be it next to you on the couch or online is a big plus for this game. The possibility to play with other people is obviously a no brainer when it comes down to improving this game. With the extended career mode alone this game would be worth the price but The Binary Mill decided it was not enough. The addition of the weapons only adds to the mayhem. Because of the small space available on the tracks, the gameplay was already quite frantic. The amount of weapons is limited to 4 which is kind of a let down in an otherwise well beefed out game.
When I eventually conquered the normal career mode, I tried the X variant in which you get to use Mario kart like weapons to mix things up. With the addition of the upgrades to your vehicle you can earn, you get the feeling you might just take that previous hurdle on the next try. It has that classic fast-paced challenge and rewards feeling most mobile games thrive on. Mini Motor Racing X is great in career mode. With career mode X added in the mix the number of tracks might add up to over a hundred. Some tracks have a night, day and reversed version but all in all the variation in tracks is extremely impressive. Each difficulty tier has about 36 tracks which add up to a lot of different themes and terrains to race on. As you progress in one tier of the career you will really need these upgrades to keep being competitive and able to unlock the next race. Collecting the cash sporadically loitered over the track and doing well grants you options to buy upgrades.
This makes for short but frantic racing experiences with instant gratification when you see the checkered flag. Each lap takes you about 15 seconds which often means one race only takes about 1 minute.

With that option picked, you control the car from the air like you would when you race with real RC cars. The Bird’s eye view option had the most impact on gameplay. With a press of the triangle button, I could pick different camera angles which alters the way you control your car. I settled for the hot rod to start my dominion over the RC racing world of Mini Motor Racing X. With a dozen cars to choose from which all have some difference in performance, you’ll surely find one that suits your style. In Career mode, you first choose an RC car. Eventually, I decided to start a normal career to feel out the game without the addition of anything extraordinary. The amount of menuing needed to actually start a race is a bit overwhelming. It’s quite daunting when you first start Mini Motor Racing X. I’m serious, Mini Motor Racing X is filled to the top with content and ways to experience that content. Mini Motor Racing X comes as advertised with a ton of content. Gone are any hints at microtransactions or other dreadful loot boxes that often gets overhauled from the mobile market. They opted to make a whole new game build with the console and more importantly, the console gamer in mind. Let me first start by saying The Binary Mill didn’t just port their mobile game to the Playstation 4. Coming from a successful stint on the mobile market, The Binary Mill pulled out all stops with this version. The Binary Mill decided to make a sequel to Mini Motor Racing from the ground up so it would fit its new home, the Playstation 4, as ideally as possible. Mini Motor Racing X is bigger and bolder than its predecessor.
